Veiled Bloom

This Indo-Western look blends John Galliano’s dramatic flair with Punjabi cultural elements. The backless cowl-neck topfeatures a navy to orangish-yellow ombré created with synthetic dyes, symbolizing modern expression. A hood with 14+ hours of lattice smocking replaces the dupatta, referencing traditional head coverings in a bold new form.

A fabric braid made from scraps, inspired by the Paranda, is attached to the hood to signify long hair and feminine identity.

Paired with a turmeric-dyed saree, eco-printed with marigold flowers, the look celebrates springtime in Punjab. The use of natural dye on the saree contrasts the top, highlighting the shift from tradition to modernity in textile practices.
